I am having a terrible time getting this to work. I am hoping someone out
there can help me with very specific code examples. I am trying to get the
linked tables in my Access 97 database to be updated whenever the database
opens. I need to have them updated based on an INI file that resides in the
same directory as the current database.
I do not need or want the ability to open a dialog box to pick the location.
I simply want it to...

Hello, I have a Database with lists of Clients in each.
Every year a new tables is created with the naming convention
"CloseYear"
ie close1999, close2000
There are tables from this year back to 1989.
I need to be able to
1) Go to a Search for
2) Enter Criteria -(Client_Last_Name) (Client_First_Name)
(File_Number)

Hi All,
I've got a situation where I am developing an Access 97 app for a client,
and am in the "beta testing" stage.
I have split the app up, using the DB splitter, into front-end /back-end
for the usual reason ... so I can mess with form/report revisions. Since
splitting, I've had issues with re-linking the tables ... as it relates to
the completetely different "My Documents"
data paths on several different Win98 / Win XP computers.

I have a lot of respect for David Fenton and Allen Browne, but I don't
understand why people who know how to write code to completely replace
a front end do not write something that will automate the code that
implements managing unbound controls on forms given the superior
performance of unbound controls in a client/server environment. I can
easily understand a newbie using bound controls or someone with a
tight deadline. I guess I need...

I've been struggling with this problem for some time and have tried
multiple solutions with no luck.
Let me start with, I'm a novice at Access and I'm not looking for
someones help to design my database, just help in getting me pointed in
the right direction.
I have a database with 8 tables, which from what I have read, cannot be
linked on a single form, and be updatable. I have created a query
which includes all 8 tables, and then...

I have multiple web forms in my application. The user after logging on is
directed to form1 where he enters information desired. Once finished he is
directed to form2 and the same procedure goes on till form6. After user has
entered information in all 6 forms the information needs to be entered in the
database by performing a Transaction. If the data from any of the forms is
missing the Transaction is rolled back.
My query is where do i...

I have looked into this a lot, but have not been able to find a solution to it.

Hi,

Designer-Server application with http-based data exchange between
Client/Designer and Server. Client application is installed in
multiple end users machine. Designer and Server (built as ISAPI dll in
Delphi) reside in Web Server (IIS). Client and Designer application
connects to database through HTTP requests. Server dll in turn connect

I am connecting to MS SQL 2000 from Red Hat EL4 using freetds and
currently running queries to get counts on tables etc. When running
SELECT queries I notice that the data returns and I have to parse out
the field names etc. Is there any easier way to extract the data in a
comma separated form?
I was thinking of reading the contents into a structured file or
buffer and then getting the field names that way. However I thought I
might...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...
