More than one record per record on a form...

More clueless newbie questions...

Table 1: "available specs"

Table 2: "classes"

A single form shows a single record from the table "classes". Each record in
"classes" may contain several records from "available specs" (and several
fields from each of those records).

I have no idea how to display all the fields from each record in "available
specs" for several different "available specs" records, all on the same
form.

I have the text "How to do everything with Access 2002" by Anderson. I think
I may need to upgrade...

Thanks for any help.

Regards,

Robin

If I understand you question correctly....

Normally you would create 2 forms; 1 for classes, the other form for specs. The
form for Classes could be a single form. Then create a form for specs. This
could be a Continuous Form (see the data tab)

Now open up the form Classes in design view. From the Toolbox toolbar, select
SubForm. You will be prompted to present the link between the two tables.
Let's say you have a field called "ClassID" in both tables. You would use that
field as the link.

Now save the form then run it. Change the field presentation to suit your input
needs.

S**t for brains strikes again! Why did I do that? When I met the clients and at some point they vaguely asked whether eventually would it be possible to have some people who could read the data and some who couldn't but that it wasn't important right now. And I said, 'sure, we can do that later'. So now I've developed an app without any...

I have a form with about 25 fields. In the BeforeUpdate event of the form, I have code that sets the default value of each field to its current value. For a new record, I can put the focus in any field to start. If I edit that field and then click on the new record button in the navigation buttons, the form goes to a new record and each field...

All, I posted this earlier yesterday and thanks to David, for his codes here. It kinds of work, but not always. I have a MainForm with a subform. When I place the following code in the Subform's On_Open, it only works for 1x (at open) when the mainform is open with the subform. When I goto another record in the main form, it quits...

I've posted about this subject before but haven't really got anywhere yet. I have now come up with a plan of action that takes into account my strong desire to implement save/discard functionality on all key forms. The first thing to do is to successfully split the database. I then rewrite to support multiple users. To allow the...

I come up with these questions during the day, do some research, and then look for experienced users' input. 1. In Access, we already know it's pretty much an automatic save if you enter data. How can I prevent that? How can I make an effective way in Access to not commit a change until a 'Save' button is pressed, and also to backout...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. ...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For...
