help with parameter value queries

I am struggling to learn to use Access almost on my own, and have
written a query that needs to have a parameter. The query I wrote
includes [Please enter facility code] in the Criteria of the design
view, under the column that would contain the Facility Code. When I
run the query, the 'enter parameter value' box comes up twice,
rquiring the parameter to be entered twice before the information is
displayed. I hope I'm explaining this correctly. Can someone direct me
to a solution to this small problem? Thanks!

Most likely the problem is within the way you constructed your query.
Please post the query so someone can help you further.

I'm assuming your problem is that you don't want the parameter box to
display twice, correct? If you had opened the query and then done a
sort or filter on the results and then saved/closed the query it will
"remember" it's last sort/filter state. Sometimes a sort/filter will
require the parameters anew. To fix this open the query, in results
view, & right-click & select Remove Sort/Filters, then close the
query. This may solve the problem.

I am having 2 issues, both acting very randomly, and for the most part I dont get this message on most computers, but I have had a couple computers get either issue 1, or issue 2. Issue #1: I have a module that has a function that starts as: Function setFormColors(frm As Form) This function takes a form and looks through its objects and if certain object names meet a certain critera (such as start with lblBD) do a certain action (like...

Hi First up, I am using MS Access 2002. I have a database which records analyst rating changes for a list of companies on a daily basis. Unfortunately, the database has been set up (by my predecessor, I hasten to add) so that each day it creates a copy of the record for each company, changes the date to today's date, and prompts the user for any changes of ratings on that day. The resulting data table grows by approx 600 records per...

The code for the query I have written is: SELECT .,.,.,. FROM dbo_census WHERE (((.)=))); That code results in the parameter value request being made twice before the information I want shows up in the datasheet view.

Hi All You guys are my last hope, despite spending money on books and hours reading them I still can not achieve the results I need. I have designed a database in Access 2000 based on 1 table, all has gone very well with one exception. The table is based on applications made by potential customers looking to buy franchise rights to particular locations and as part of the process they are asked to list their preferred locations 1 to 4....

Is it possible to build a parameterized query from another parameterized query? I've tried two variations of this and can't seem to get it to work (using DAO). Any suggestions welcome! I want to delete linked documents - but only if they are not linked to other entities outside of the category being deleted

I am trying to create a query that can be loaded as a querydef object but not having to assign values to the parameters if I don't want to. Normally when using a parameter query in VBA my code would go something like this: dim qry as dao.querydef set qry = currentdb.querydefs("myquery") qry.parameters("Par1") = "blah"

My problem is that it’s driving me NUTS NUTS NUTS. I am connected to a data connection within my computer that accesses tables & views from a MS Access file.

This thing is about to drive me crazy. I have about 50 queries in the AS400 that I need to put on a menu. Once I conquer this I have a bunch more rpg reports that I need to pass a date to. In the AS400 I have a stored procedure (SPRUNQRY) that runs the RUNQRY command with the name of the query as a parameter. In the AS400 I would type "RUNQRY SUNTR401A" on a command line to run this query. My connection is opening, and I can run some...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
