That won't stop them making MDEs out of anything else.

del *.mde /s/q

Schedule that to run every 5 minutes or so :-)

Ooh, that sounds draconian - I like it! <g>

Well, I wasn't thinking of crippling the IDE.

And come to think of it why worry if an MDE is created? I'm just
inclined/biased to distributing MDEs.

Struggling a bit here & would be grateful for any help. I have a table which has a list of people in it. Each person has a unique ID automatically allocated by Access but also belongs to one of 5 Groups - call them A to E. I'd like to generate a further automatic reference number based on something like Group/Unique ID so when I create a new record Access creates the Unique ID & I then enter in the group and then Access combines the two...

I've seen plenty of articles on this topic but none of them have been able to solve my problem. I am working with an Access 97 database on an NT4.0 machine, which has many Access reports. I want my users to be able to select a report, click on a command button on a form, which will then automatically create the report as a pdf file and save it to the user's machine. I am using Adobe Acrobat (5.0 I think) and have Adobe Distiller as a

I have an asp.net ecommerce web application on a remote web server. I'm using an Access database on the back end. I've notice a few strange things. When I mimic an multiple user environment by surfin it in multiple browsers simultaneously the site generates a generic runtime error after awhile. I'm thinking this has something to do with my access database and multiple connections. I'm using forms authentication with a login page. Is...

I have a www based asp.net application which allows users to upload images (screen captures for fault reporting). These files get saved in the folder www.<domain>.co.uk/uploadedfiles/<filename>. I have a test server runinng 2003/IIS 6 with a mixture of asp and asp.net files. On my workstation I have a share set up to the folder where the web files reside. I am just doing quick and dirty asp editing (like I used to be able to do with 2K/IIS5) where I use VS.NET, open an asp file, make changes, save and refresh my browser. Problem is that I get an Access is Denied error when I try to save the file and then the file gets wiped on...

I need to access some data on a server. I can access it directly using UNC (i.e. \\ComputerName\ShareName\Path\FileName) or using a mapped network drive resource (S:\Path\FileName). Here is my problem: my vb.net program has problems with UNC. If the UNC server is restarted or goes off-line, my VB.net program crashes. The code for UNC access to the file is included below and is put in the tick event of a form timer control running every...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
