This simple stupid thing has me stumped!
The cursor is on a record in a datasheet. How do I select that record
(highlight) like I would if I clicked on the Record Selector using VBA.
Regards.

Too late Barry, your address has been posted, harvested and put into a
dozen or so mailing lists, this happened the very first time you
posted it. Expect some spam soon, it won't stop for years.
As you use OE, you'll feel right at home using Mozilla Thunderbird
( http://www.mozilla.org/products/thunderbird/), which has better spam
filtering, bit draconian at first but as 99% of my mail is spam it
works for me. I'd suggest moving junk to a junk folder at first until
it learns that some of your friends aren't junk senders (yes, that's
right, it learns, oh and it puts some of your friends emails into junk
as well until it does).

Is there any EASY way to highlight a full row in a continuous form so
that as i navigate up & down the table/continuous form using the arrow
keys, the entire line (all fields) get highlighted ?
This will give the effect of a bar moving up & down. BTW, all fields
are locked so this form is View-Only & not editable.
Thx & Best Rgds,
Prakash.

Hello Again,
I'm really stuck on this one.....so I'm going to try a different approach to
this problem.
I have a query by form that returns a record set in a datasheet. The user
double clicks on a row and a main form (pop up) opens bound to a table with
a continuous subform bound to another table.
On the main form is a field called . It is vital that this is

Hey,
In our database, we have implemented auditing simply by holding a copy
of each row of the specific table at any time that data is updated. This
gives us a long list of full records, often with only one change
between them.
Not sure if there's a better way to do this, but we'd like to somehow
highlight whichever record was changed by comparing each row with the
next (in date order).

Whenever you use a continous form each row represents a record. Does
this record have a number? If so how do you access it. Right now I
have a field using auto number. But if access generates its own number
for that row I'd like to use that.
Thanks

So, the questions are: 1) In the macro, how to I get my hands on the

I've got a a datasheet subform that gets its data from a SELECT DISTINCT query. The data is not editable. When I remove the DISTINCT qualifier from the query, the data is editable, but of course I get a much longer record set. I understand why Access doesn't want to let the data be editable in this situation, but I'm hoping there is a way to circumvent this restriction. Thanks for any suggestions. (Access 2003)

A thing I have been asked for on a number of occasions is the ability to highlight text after its been searched for in a record return page. The following does this perfectly.
Use this function within your record return page :
'Highlight searched for text function

Dim nLen

If I have a form open with a subform control on it in datasheet view that
has its record source set to a query or a table, is it possible to determine
which record the user has clicked into with VB? I don't mean the text box
with which you can determine the field/column, but the record (row). I
guess what I'm looking for would be the bookmark? (or some line numbering?)

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
