I have a mySQL database located on a remote host's server. I would
like to schedule a task on my local Windows computer to retrieve a
backup/dump of this remote database.
I have contacted my host, and they indicated that the server is only
open to the Internet via mySQL. Therefore, even if I did have access
to that server's command line (which I don't) to create dumps via
mysqldump, I would not be able to retrieve via FTP.
Does...

Hello !
How to let GPP/GCC read command line switches from a file, **for Windows** ?
I was told a Linux solution:
"Your options in options.txt
Then: gcc $(cat options.txt)
or: gcc `cat options.txt`"
and I was turned to the specs option

Hello All,
I've got a VB.net windows form app that I have created to solve some
recurring maintenance tasks. What I would like to do is build
functionality into this application so that accepts command switches
like. C:\FooApp\Foobar.exe /quiet that the application will load and
process tasks with no user input, but when C:\FooApp\Foobar.exe is run
that it would load my windows form interface. Does that make sense?
Can anyone help me...

I have a VB solution which consists of a number of projects. When I put the
executable out for QA, it would be nice to be able to run a script that goes
into Source Safe and does a Get Latest and then compiles the code. I think
I have the Source Safe portion figured out, but can anyone tell me how to
compile the solution (and each of its projects) from the command line?
TIA

I'm trying to programmatically run msinfo32.exe /? with the following line
of code but it is not taking the switch:
System.Diagnostics.Process.Start("c:\program files\common files\Microsoft
Shared\MSInfo\msinfo32.exe /?")
I have a couple other command line tools with switches that I would like to
programmatically execute as well. I'm thinking there is another way to do
this but am coming up short. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I'm new to this and was wondering what the options are for interpreting the
command line using a CLI program. Specifically methods for interpreting the
parameters passed to the program on the command line.
I noticed that visual studio adds the following for you when creating a new
CLI program:
void main(string args)
{
}

Hi everyone,
My goal is to pull command switches/options from a file and then assign
the values to select variables which would eventually be included in a
class object.
The data file looks something like this but the switches could be in any
order and not all may be used.
-m quemanager -s server -p port -k key -o object -c 20 -t test@email.com

A few years ago I deployed an MS Access DB, users used to have a login
and pword to get into the DB.
I now migrated the DB to an Advanced Server 2003.
Question 1. The problem is that the DB no longer authenticates (uname
&pword). Is this a flaw in Advanced Server?
Question 2. How can I fix it?

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
