First, this is _not_ a question about how to get Crystal Reports to run
on a client machine. I've got all the merge modules added to the project
and it's working fine. The question is about distributing my .RPT files.
1) Initial Setup Project inclusion of .rpt files:
My folder of new .RPT files keeps growing. Is there a way to point
my deployment/setup project to the folder containing these .RPT files
so they are added...

Hi Gurus
I have been working on a rather sophisticated update procedure for FEs of my
application that are spread throughout the country.
Now, I recently thought: WHAT IF
I identify all the objects in the database (may it be tables, queries,
forms, etc.....ie. NOT BE tables) that have been changed recently.

I'm so fustrated! While my prefered approach is still to call a C DLL from
C# Web Service, I thought I would tran another approach while waiting for a
response.
I created a C++ service using Visual Studio 2003. I then hit CTRL-F5 and
verified the HelloWorld worked. I then looked all over Visual Studio 2003
and could not figure out how to deploy the beast. The C# Studio has the copy
project menu entry: not so for C++! Why not?
So I...

Well, I've got my DB ready to go. Now what?
I need to host it on our Win2003 server. How do clients use it?
I think im getting more confused as I try to figure this out. We are a
small company and I just want to be able to have everyone here use the
database at the same time without too much fuss. Do I just have to have
access on each machine and let them open it from the server, or is
there more to it than that? I just don't want them...

I have been having an ongoing problem with a DB at work concerning people getting "locked out".
Access warnings relating to "exclusive" mode
The research I have done and the replies received suggest I split the DB (front-end/back-end).
A working copy of the DB was split and I can see how the DB (back-end) is being updated.
Being such an Access noob (who did not actually build the DB)
I don't know what people mean exactly when...

I resisted for many years but I've just written my first app in .NET2005
and am looking to deploy my app with a third-party installer. ClickOnce
and the VS Installer do not meed my needs and I am already well versed
in another installer.
My question is mainly dealing with deploying the app dependecies. I think
I know where im headed but could use the advice of others who have had
more experience. Should i just take all the files in the...

Hi all friends,
I have a big aspnet project including several
several .aspx .ascx .resx. I publish this project everytime that i
want to deploy it. I use full compile-no update options so I just
bring some dlls to customers server. All aspx are converted to a
plcaeholder.
The problem is: Sometimes I modify just one page (aspx or cs) and
wants just to deploy it. Is it possible to publish just that single
page using aspnet_compiler.exe...

Here is my problem. I have an app that has over 9 web services. For years I
had not issues with clickonce but now it looks like the build is missing
XmlSerializers.dll.deploy. I did have this issue once in vs 2005 and one the
problem just went away. Well now its back. If I build the app 20 times it
may work once. I did find that if I remove this as a required dll that I can
get my program to run. I can't seem to find any info about...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
