Can't combine memo & Text fields in a query.

When adding anything in a query next to a field with Data type = Memo,
like this
Combined: [Inventory] ![Product] & [Inventory]![price]
Or
Combined: [Inventory] ![Product] & "instock"
The query will not display more than 256 characters.
(The field [Products] is a Memo type, and the properties is set to
Unicode Compression = Yes)

How do fix this problem?

Thanks

Hi, I have an web app and I am using access 2002 and VB.net. I am using a data adapter to fill a dataset. I am retrieving product descriptions, some are long and i have used a field of memo datatype to save them in. The problem is sometimes I can only retrieve the first 255 characters in a memo field and other times I can retrieve the full product

I am using Automation in Access 2003 to open a Word Document and fill in some values using bookmarks. It all works perfectly except for one section. I am filling in some values in a previously created Word Table, and the memo fields are truncating to 255 characters. If I "manually" copy the memo field into the Table, it has no problem accepting more than 255 characters. Any suggestions on how to resolve this?

I am at best a part time developer of Access databases. I use Access 2.0, as this is all my employer has on its computers. Even so, to use this ancient version requires a fairly convoluted installation procedure on each PC on which it is used. I am self-taught from the help files that come with Access 2.0 and from painful experience. I've never attended any type of training course on how to develop databases in Access. I have no idea...

Does using CStr on a memo field truncate it to 255 characters? Seems like this is happening with some data in my tables. Is there a way around this?

I have an ASP that displays two MS Access memo fields in separate table cells just fine. However when I concatenate them with SQL as in "select fld1 & fld2 as temp...." to display them in one cell only part of the first field is displayed in the table. What is causing this? thanks LJB

This is mainly a speed question. In this example: I have a QuotesHdr table that has a few memo fields. If these memo fields are used extensively by some users, and if their are a large number of records in QuotesHdr, should I break out the memo fields into a separate table? The thinking here is that, for Quotes selection dropdowns that display all entries in QuotesHdr for selection, I would think that the entire record comes down over...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
