I want to create two buttons on a form. One would allow the user to
Copy the contents of the current records memo field, the other would
allow them to print. I set up a report based on the memo field, and
it works. But, it seems wrong since I had to create a huge text box to
accommodate memo fields with a lot of text.
Thanks for any help,
ShyGuy

Thank you in advance for any and all assistance.
I'm trying to input data from strings to a memo field. I would like to know
how to check first to see if there is text there currently and if so move to
the end and input the new text.
Also, would like to know if I can change the justification on each line of
text as it's entered. i.e.
Company Name, address, city state and zip would be centered and all the

I have a small database made up of 2 tables. I have a report that is
driven from a query. On the report are a couple of fields linked to
memo boxes in the table. Everytime I run the report I get the
following strange characters instead of data.

These actually show us as square boxes and capital A's with a tilde
etc.

I have a field, data type Memo, in a job details table. I have a text box on
a report which I need to print the contents of this field. My problem is
that the text box will only display 255 characters. How can I get the report
to print this field completely.
Thanks for any help out there.
John.

Thanks for the very quick response posting that I can use a memo
datatype to store large amounts of text.
I understand that I can turn on "Can Grow" for a memo type, but is
there either a property or VB code that will allow the text box to
expand vertically as the user adds lines, so that it isn't necessary to
use the vertical scroll bar to view text above/below the displayed
window? I'm looking for a sort of dynamic autosize.

Hi All,
here is what I am trying to achieve. I have a memo field on a form which
users will need to add to as and when. I do not want them to be able to edit
information which already exists within this field.
My idea was to have the memo field locked on the form to stop edits.
Place a command button by the memo field which opens an unbound form with a
single text box.
The user enters their update into the unbound form and upon closing...

I'm trying to import data into a memo field by running an append query. The
data is to be imported as
if it was entered with separate lines in the memo field. I have tried
inserting chr(13)s into the string that is being appended into the memo
field but when appended, the data displays with a square box in place of a
carriage return/line feed. I would like to import the data so that data is
displayed in separate lines within the memo...

This is mainly a speed question.
In this example: I have a QuotesHdr table that has a few memo fields. If
these memo fields are used extensively by some users, and if their are a
large number of records in QuotesHdr, should I break out the memo fields
into a separate table? The thinking here is that, for Quotes selection
dropdowns that display all entries in QuotesHdr for selection, I would think
that the entire record comes down over...

My client insists that the printed copy of text entered into a memo
field have EXACTLY the same layout as it appears on the screen.
I found I had to eliminate the vertical scroll bar. Then I copied the
memo field from the form to the report. I verified that the font and
font size (MS Sans serif 8) were the same. However, the text shows
differently. On the printed version, more text shows on the line than
in the form.
Suggestions?

I've got some troubles with VBA and Excel.
I wanna show the content of a Memo field from VPF data (DBF) into an Excel's cell but it shows nothing after de procedure.
After the conection with ADO everything goes right, i can print every data but Memo's data
Is there anyway to do it ?
I've tried every method: trim, replace, left cuts, right cuts but they don't work.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
