No system calls on browser pages

2 New Member
Hi,

i am running perl on windows and have a little script which executes curl.exe with specific parameters.

When executing in command line it works perfect.
When executing as page in my brower the command ist not executed.

If the parameters get removed the system call works on the browser too.

Any ideas how i could use a system coll on a browser page with parameters?

Thanks for ideas.

If it works correctly when you remove the parameters, then that would indicate you're not properly quoting the parameters.

Hi RonB,

when i execute the script on the command line it works perfect.
So i dont think that the quoting should be a problem.

Post your script so I can see what you're doing.

How do you know that the command is not being executed as opposed to executing but fails due to an issue you're not expecting/trapping?

You said that it works in the browser if you remove the parameters passed to the command. That indicates a problem with how you're passing those parameters.

What return code is the system call returning?

Have you checked the web server error log?

Do you have warnings enabled?

If a script executes correctly from the command line but fails in a web environment, then it is almost always due to difference between you login environment and the web server environment.
