Printing from a Web Service

I am using VS.net 2005 and trying to create a web service using vb.net. I
can print a PDF file or any file when in debug mode but cannot print once I
publish the web site. Would anyone have any ideas why that would be
happening? I do not get any errors when I print from the production web
site. The production web site runs on port 80 and the debug site runs on
some random port.

I'm pretty desperate to get color syntax printing. I just tried out the evaluation version of 'Komodo', which several people in here suggested, and its print features are terrible. The text is coming out huge when I print at 8 point, tiny when I'm printing at 14 point (so tiny that it looks like subscripts), the margins are reset at random,...

Greetings, I have code which prints a document who's attributes are saved as flags in a database. One of the those attributes is letter or legal. When I am printing, I use the following code, which is the ONLY way I could come up with to reliably print to legal paper, assuming a default of letter. There HAS to be a better way. I'm...

Does anyone know if the following kb article applies to the .NET framework 1.1? http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=324565 It states: 'Any service that is designed to print must directly use the Win32 APIs, instead of the .NET Framework Printing classes.'.... 'This behaviour is by design' Is this true? Can we not safely use the C#...

I have a web service that is supposed to print some files. I've set up the virtual directory security to use a domain user account, and added the printer to the server logged in as that account. When I run the web service, it says it's printing, and does not get any errors. However, if I watch the printer queue while this is happening, I...

Hello all! I'm at my wits end trying to search for what I assumed to be a relatively straightforward task. I have a Web application written in C#, and I have a button on the form that I want to print the current contents of the browser without bringing up the print dialog. At first I thought it was a simple matter to have the button's...

Hi all. I hope someone can give me a few pointers on 'best practice' for an app I'm about to start. I'm writing a small and simple label design application, users will define text fields on the label in a GUI, some data may come from a database. The application will be able to connect to any standard database in time, but for the time...

I have a web method that renders a SQL Reporting Services report and prints it to a network printer using the System.Drawing and System.Drawing.Printing namespaces in .Net 2.0. This method has been working without issues in production at several client sites but now I've started seeing memory errors when trying to print. The only way to...

I have an ASP.NET page that displays work orders in a GridView. In that GridView is a checkbox column. When the user clicks a "Print" button, I create a report, using the .NET Framework printing classes, for each of the checked rows in the GridView. This works fine in the Visual Studio 2005 development environment on localhost. But, when I...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. ...
