The war of the OSes was won a long time ago.
Unix has always been, and will continue to be, the Server OS in the form
of Linux.
Microsoft struggled mightily to win that battle -- creating a poor man's
DBMS, a broken email server and various other /application/ servers to
try and crack the Internet and IS markets.
In the case where they didn't spend their own money to get companies to

I really believe it's possible to do what I want with a SelectNodes() XPath
query, but I'm lost. Any help would be appreciated. Suppose you have an
XML document (like a WordProcessingML file) that has a bunch of elements
embedded in it that conform to a schema, but each schema-defined
parent/child relationship can have (an arbitrary number of) intervening
elements from another namespace. I'm trying to do something simple, find
all...

For DB2 V8 on Windows/Linux/Unix, the idea of having the Information Center
online and accessible from IBM via the Internet is probably the best
approach for most users. It keeps the information current and centralized so
that everyone is seeing the "latest and greatest" versions of the manuals.
However, I'd like to know how I can go about putting a version of the
Information Center on a CD or hard drive? I'm thinking of situations where...

I have a split database (A2K). The back end was originaly on drive J.
IT changed some network stuff and eliminated the J drive. The back end
is now on the F drive. When the front end is opened, it looks for the
back end on the J drive and displays a message saying the filepath of
the back end is not a valid path.
Is there any way to reconnect the front end to the back end?
The front end appears to open. An Access.LockFile is...

I know this is probably not the proper newsgroup to ask this question,
but I do not know which one is. And most of you guys here know a lot
about windows programming so I am taking a chance some one here may be
able to answer this simple question.
If I burn a CD/DVD and include a file in the root of the burned disk
called Autorun.inf and the contents of it is:
open=C:\Program Files\myProgram.EXE

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
