Microsoft Speech Help

60 New Member
I have been trying to use Microsoft Text to Speech, yet when I hit preview an error comes up telling me to change my audio output. I know my audio output is fine and I have tried other options but it still does not work. I have even tried restoring the Speech folder in Windows Shared under Common Files but nothing seems to work. What should I do?

Dear all, I have developed a speech web application using Speech SDK(SASDK) with VisualStudio.NET on Win2003 environment. In that case I have to give the option to the user to run the setup...

From time to time, I find myself cross checking one block of code against another. Usually older stuff in which I've made modifications that don't work. I don't remember what all the changes were so I have to print an earlier version and compare it against a printout of a more recent version. I am dyslexic and it is helpful to have someone read one copy while I follow along on another copy until we hit a discrepancy. Could I somehow...

I have recently bought a Vista laptop to do speech recognition development using VS VC++ 2008 /CLI. It comes with 'Microsoft Anna' as it's only voice. I would like to add many voices to test my software. I have a menu in my application to choice a text-to-speech voice, but hard to tell if it works when there is only one voice to choose from! For example, I want 'Microsoft Lili' and 'Microsoft Sam'. But I have been asking for WEEKS in...

Microsoft Text-To-Speech(TTS) voice engine has been installed by default on Windows 2000, XP, Vista, you can find what voice engines have been installed on the computer by following Control Panel- window. For example, the voice of Microsoft Sam has been installed by default on Windows XP, so you can listen to the files read by Sam. If you download and install the voice engine drivers of Microsoft Mary and Mike from Microsoft, you have more...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
