i don't know where i should post this question here or somewhere else i have a problem i have a sql server 7.0 disk (that came with my developers disk in access 2000) and i have never used it because this programming thing is hard to grasp at times.

1 - what it it used for?
2 - and of it's a good thing to use. how do i use it

when i installed it it's got all of these items i have no idea what they do? so i bought some books on it and this is a field where or what i have read seems to be really cool if i understood where and how to get a username and a password to use this.is there a web site i have to go to or something like that. because i want to use it in visual basic 6 & in ms access. the main thing here is the username and the password how do i get one or do i need one.
