Saving records in an Oracle database

1 New Member
I'm new to VB. I tried to use ADO data accessing method to insert records to Oracle 8i datanbase.

When I try to

rs.addnew under Command_click(), after opening db and connecting to it, opening recordset and so on, it gives an error saying that

updating is not possible due to either 'lock-mechanism' restriction or database problem.

I tried all of adopendynamic, adkeyset, adopenstatic, adlockoptimistic without success.

Also Data can be inserted into the database using SQL(Outside VB). So it can not be a database problem.

What can be the reason for this? And please somebody can give me the exact code to save records.

I tried all what is in general coding for this kind of applications.

Thank you

The holy grail to all oracle problems is to post your code :)
