Internet Transfer Control not Timing out?

Hey guys,

I'm encountering an error where the ITC is going out to download a file,
but can't find it. That's all fine and good - except that it is not
timing out in a timely manner. When a user goes to exit in this
scenario, they are left waiting until the ITC times out to finish. I
have tried calling the .cancel member function, but it appears to do
nothing to expedite it's release.

Does anyone have any other tricks that they may offer?

Are you using OpenURL, or the Execute method? I think Cancel only applies to the
Execute method.

Here is the MSDN library description of the RequestTimeOut property:
"Returns or sets the length, in seconds, to wait before a time-out expires. If a
request doesn't respond within the specified time, and if the request was made
with the OpenURL method (synchronous), an error is generated; if the request was
made with the Execute method, the StateChanged event will occur with an error
code. Setting this property to 0 means infinity."
