Why is double click event not working?

OK,

last post of the day I promise!

I have a doubleclick event below that is not working. The strange this
is that the single 'click' event works fine?
I did notice that doubleclick does not appear as an event option for
this button, but i get no validation errors if i typr doubleclick.
Private Sub AddNewDriverToolStripMenuItem_Click(ByVal sender As
System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles
AddNewDriverToolStripMenuItem.Click
Dim NewBtn As New Button()
AddHandler NewBtn.DoubleClick, AddressOf Me.Shownotes
NewBtn.Tag = CStr(Now)
Me.Controls.Add(NewBtn)

Dim NewTxt As New RichTextBox
NewTxt.Tag = NewBtn.Tag
Me.Controls.Add(NewTxt)
End Sub

Private Sub Shownotes(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As
System.EventArgs)
Dim ctlControl As Control
For Each ctlControl In Me.Controls
If TypeOf ctlControl Is RichTextBox And ctlControl.Tag Is
Me.ActiveControl.Tag Then
currentnotes = ctlControl.Text
End If
Next
ToolTip1.SetToolTip(Me.ActiveControl, currentnotes)
End Sub
