Shrinking Property Editor Description

CMM
Does anyone know why the Description box at the bottom of the Properties
toolbox is always shrinking? Every time I open up Visual Studio it's
slightly smaller and smaller. This happened in VS2003 and now I realize it
happesn in VS2005 as well. It's highly annoying.

I have been watching this, since I've seen your post, but with mine (VS2005,
team edition) this doesn't occur.

I am able to repro the behavior in both VS.NET 2003 and VS 2005. I'd
consider it a bug which should be reported at

Maybe it depends on where the Properties toolbox is docked? Mine is docked
underneath Solution Explorer. I dunno.

Maybe that's the reason. Mine is docked there too.

Man, this has been annoying me for three years. It's symptomatic IMO. You
would think they would have caught it for VS2005. I read in E-week (if I
remember) the other day that the Development Tools Team are trying to move
to a complete automated testing system. It takes 27 hours to do a full run.
I remember thinking... "oh joy.... there goes attention to detail!"

Tsk tsk tsk. MS for the last two years has been on a downward path IMHO-
cool neato "marketable" features in VS2005 notwithstanding. I can't wait to
see how "quirky" Vista is like... it'll be like Win95 all over again I bet.

Well, I am dissatisfied with the quality of VS 2005 too, but hopefully SP1
which will be released this year will make it more stable. In Whidbey the
testing period after adding the last features was far too short and too many
bugs have not been fixed. Hopefully this is not the case for Vista, which
will be Microsoft's flagship operating system.
