VS 2005 Access record Check

I have a form which connects to 2 access tables. Table 1 has drop down
combo box for ID. If the combo box record is changed the corresponding
record is to be changed in Table table 2. Everything works fine. What I
need to do is, if there no selected record in table 2 I need to add a
record and assign the ID. Can anyone point me in the right direction. I
am new to VB.net but am familiar with VB. Any input is appreciated.
Thanks,
- kumar
