Define different set of function / sub parameter

does Anybody know how to define a multiple set of parameter (like
OleDbCommand's parameter - there are 4 sets of parameter)

write 4 functions with same name but different parameters.
for example:
function func() as integer
function func(byval i as integer) as integer
function func(byval i as integer,j as integer) as integer
function func(byval i as integer,j as integer,s as string) as integer
