Whic application is having the focus?

Hi

Is there a way to find out which application currently has the focus? I want
to display a notification in a screen corner and give the focus back to the
application which just had it, or can a window be shown on top of others
without ever getting the focus?

Take a look at this page. It should be able to help you show a windows
w/o taking focus
