Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 Configuration applet

Thought I would try posting this again in this group this time, since you
guys are the best. :)

When I install .NET Framework Version 2.0 Redistributable I cannot find the
2.0 Confiuragation applet in control panel?!?

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en

My machine has the applet after installing VS.NET 2005 RTM.

Is there someway to install this separately on a machine? The
redistributables for 1.0 and 1.1 always included the control panel applets.

Hi Greg,

I think you have resolved this issue yourself, yes?
Based on the bug link:
http://lab.msdn.microsoft.com/Produc...x?feedbackid=f
7c1c9df-830d-4cd3-a1c0-3b3f6b616984, in VS.net2005, configuration applet is
included in .Net Framework SDK. If I misunderstand you, please feel free to
tell me, thanks

Thanks Jeffrey for the response,

Well I added my own bug link cause I feel this is a different problem:

http://lab.msdn.microsoft.com/Produc...ckId=FDBK39678

Your bug link is concerns mscorcfg.msc being missing from CTP SDK. Looks
like they resolved that (added it back to the SDK), but didn't add it back
to the Redistributables. This is different than all the prior .NET
Redistributables (1.0, 1.1).

My bug was "Resolved by As Design". But why not include it? It just takes
away one more method of inspecting or changing the security settings on a
workstation.

I have somewhat of a thread about this issue going here in the security
group:

Hi Greg,

Thanks for your feedback.

Yes, I can see your new submitted bug link. I see your concern is that why
Configuration applet is not included in .Net Redistributables, but in SDK.

Based on my finding in our internal database, I see some comment about this
issue, and the product team always believe that no end user will use these
configuration tools, only administrators and developers might use it. So
they moved it to the SDK and so they resolved your bug link as by design.

If you really have concern on this issue, I suggest you re-active that bug
link and feedback your concern to our product team, they will work and
consider on your feedback. Thanks

Well, considering how little response any of my threads has generated, I may
be alone in my position. :(

Just seems like an unnecessary stumbling block for us that are not too
familiar with CAS and how to configure it on our users' workstations.
