Sourcecontrol

Hi

I need a source/version control system for my different projects. I know I
could use SourceSafe 2005 when it comes, but I've spent a lot of money on
MSDN pro and need a free/cheap alternative. Any suggestions?

Andy,

At my last contract position, we used Subversion. It is free and works
very well.

Main Site:
http://subversion.tigris.org/

AnkhSVN (Visual Studio.Net Integration):
http://ankhsvn.tigris.org/

TortoiseSVN (Windows Explorer Integration):
http://tortoisesvn.tigris.org/

Version Control With Subversion (Full Book):
http://svnbook.red-bean.com/

The most important thing is to take time reading the docs. It is very
good at what it does, but isn't the most user friendly thing to set up.
;-)

HTH,

Joseph

This is what we use:
http://www.sourcegear.com/vault/index.html

$289 a license

From FAQ: Somebody said that Vault is free for a single user. Is this true?

Yes. Both Vault and Dragnet are free for use by a single user. Simply
install the product and do not enter any serial numbers at all. When no
serial numbers are present, Vault and Dragnet behave as if there is exactly
one user license.

Do a google search for wincvs (windows version of CVS). Its opensource
and almost an "industry standard" in the non-Windows (i.e *nix) world
