Looking for a 3rd party library/component for multimedia

Does anyone know of a 3rd party product that can be used to create
multimedia effects programmatically? I am looking for a component such
as a library or controls. Essentially I need an advanced component that

allows me to create dazzling visual and audio effects in my
applications. I don't want to write stuff with DirectX. The component
should already be able to provide a lot of visual effects such as
fading the GUI in or out, scrolling screens, animation effects,
creating fancy introduction screens, whatever. Basically, this is the
fluff you add to your program to get your customer's attention when
presenting a demonstration of the app. Typically used for dog and pony
shows.
Thanks for any info.

Try Macromedia Flash, as activeX controls.
