MSDE installed but VB.Net not seeing it!

(Type your message here)
I teach VB.Net, but I am not a network person. I am trying touse MSDE so my students can get the feel of SQL server. Mystudents have installed MSDE on their systems and it is running;however, when they get into VB.Net and open the server window, there is no server icon, suggesting of course that the server isnot available. No connections to the MSDE sample databases arepossible, so they can't use them. MSDE works fine on laptop. Ihad no such trouble, so I don't know what to tell my students. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Regards,

Ronnie Mc
