Service Problem Checking ADSI

Jm
Hi All

Ive got a service written in .net and siply because i dont know anyother way
than what i remember from vb6 i am using the following code to check user
details

dim licmgr as new licmgr
Dim grp as object
Dim isingrp as object

grp = getoject("WinNT://" & Licmgr.Dom & "/, My Students)"
isingrp = grp.ismember("WinNT://" & LicMgr.Dom & "/" & Username & ")"

The licmgr is a dll written in .net to return domain name and other details
used elsewhere in the code. The dll works in all my other apps so im pretty
sure its not the dll. If i actually put the domain name instead of
licmgr.dom, the code does work ? Im not sure why it fails when i use the dll
because i use it and the dom function in many other apps. When i run the
code it give the error ' cannot create activex object' ?. Under vb6 i used a
reference to the activeds library and would use its functions instead but im
assuming you should not use it in vb. So any suggestions ? Any help is
greatly appreciated.

Thanks
