Migration tool does not migrate FPSE user permissions on IIS 6.0with UNC share

Hello Everyone,
I have been working on setting up a windows 2003 machine with IIS 6.0.The web server has the web directory on a UNC share on a windows 2003 server.I want to migrate websites from a windows 2000 machine to this one using the migration tool. The problem with doing this is the migration tool does not migrate the FPSE user permissions across.Part of the problem I am sure is that the windows 2000 machine has the FPSE user permissions enforced using local groups where as the windows 2003 machine does not use local machine groups. Is there some way to migrate FPSE settings across from the source to the target? One solution could be the manipulation of the roles.ini file but I could be wrong.I would really appreciate it if someone could throw some light on this issue.I would really appreciate it if someone could help me out. Thanks a lot everyone.

Hi! I have an MFC application that is under development in VS2003 and frankly MFC seems difficult to use and poorly documented -- I frequently find the only way to get example code is on the Internet, not in the huge, mosly useless "MSDN Library". For example, I was advised to use CStatic for drawing some color frames / backgrounds, but...

We have an ASP.NET prototype web site which was deployed using the "XCopy" method. Since this was on an Internal System, no special permissions have been assigned. The ASP.NET pages worked fine. At work, some people have found IBM's Migration Toolkit (MTK) to be a nice tool for copying data from one table (in another DBMS product) to DB2. Now, they want to do the same thing from one DB2 database to another DB2 database. - But MTK (surprisingly) doesn't seem to support DB2-DB2 copies. These are non-regular, ad-hoc tasks, performed...

I have been researching the best approach to migrating a VB6 application into a VB.NET application. There is a lot of information out there but most of it recommends that you "train in the migration process before jumping into it". One site even recommends that this training process should take at least 2-3 weeks. I'm not sure how you can train...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For...
