WebClient Download Data And Encoding

Hi all,

I'm using the webclient class in VB.net to download a web
page and save it locally. I have a few chars in the html
that appear fine when the html page is viewed itself in
IE, but once the webclient downloads the file, and saves
it, if I then try to view the file saved by the
webclient, a few chars are completely garbled.

Here are a few examples of chars that get wacky...

a dash -, turns into ââ,¬â?o

a cirlce ., turns into ââ,¬Â¢.

When I download the data I put it into a byte array, and
then use myText = System.Text.Encoding.Default.GetString
(myDatabuffer).

I have tried using just about every time of encoding,
default, ascii, unicode, utf7 and utf8, none of them make
the correct chars appear, each one usually gives its own
flavor of weird chars to display.

Does anyone know how I can get the chars I want to appear
to appear when downloading using the web client?

Thanks
