Creating videos from a control????

I'm looking for a component (ActiveX or .NET & free or commercial) that will
enable me to record the display of a control finally creating an AVI file.

At the moment the only way I can find of doing this is by periodically using
the BitBlt API to get images of my control over time and to then use an
external program to create an AVI from these images. However, I cant find
any program that will do this from the command line.

Can anyone help with auggestions for a control or a command line tool?

Does it absolutely have to be a control rather than an app?

I have a friend who uses Camtasia by TechSmith:

www.techsmith.com

for generating software training videos. Maybe it can do what you need.
