I have a number of simple select queries that a user needs to be able to
execute and display the data on the screen in a gridview. My thought was
that I could use a Gridview set to dymanically generate columns and bound to
a SQLDataSource. Then the user can click buttons (or whatever) and it
changes the SelectCommand property of the SQLDataSource and re-binds the
GridView.
That worked great until I enabled paging. When paging is...

This should be a gridview 101 question, yet I can't get an answer...if I
click a button (button field) in row in a gridview, how do I capture the
values of the other fields in that row?
Help would be very appreciated!

Hi all,
I have a situation where my users query an LDAP directory which I feed
into a datatable and then display into a gridview (is there a better
way?) I have added a column to the gridview with an "ADD" command. When
it is clicked, the information is going to be written into a SQL
database. Of course, more is to be done with this data later, but for
now I am stuck. I have tried programatically reading the row and cell
of the gridview...

I have a question regarding the gridview. Does the gridview persist the
entire datasource in the viewstate?
For example my datasource is returning 100 records, but my gridview only
displays 10. Are the other 90 records stored in the viewstate?
Thanks.

OK I'm obviously fairly new to ASP.NET 2.0. I've used gridviews in the
past but only for pages with static queries that happen onload.
Now I have pretty simple scenario and I think I've followed all the
examples I've been able to find, but I still don't get the gridview to
render:
* I have a form with some textboxes and dropdownlist and a submit
button
* I have sqldatasource that uses form parameters to call a stored

Hi group, i have a question relatred to gridview and postback (i should
probably know this by now, considering i've been working with .net for
a few years now, but baahh). Why could a gridview (regular gridview, no
custom controls inside, bound to a list<custom object>) loose it's
value after a postback. I know that the datasource is not saved in
viewstate, but why are the rows getting cleared????
Thanks in advace

I have a gridview that displays a listing of cars for sale. It's based on a
"Cars" table.
(The "Cars" table has a 1 to many relationship to "CarPictures" table.)
On each gridview row (ie for each car) I want to show just 1 picture from
the "CarPictures" table.
Any suggestions as to how to do this?

I do a lot of winforms programming in C# and VB.NET, but not I've been asked
to do an ASP.NET application, and that's a first for me. So I hope you will
bear with this basic question, because I'm really puzzled.
I've got an SQL Server 2005 DB, and for the sake of simplification, we can
say that I've got two tables, tblBooks and tblAuthors. tblBooks contains an
integer column called iAuthorID, and tblAuthors contain an integer field...

Hi I have a gridview with several template columns and a few command button
columns, column 1 and 2 are dropdown boxes, column 3 is a checkbox and column
4 is a text box, followed by command button columns. These are all for data
entry and although I am populating the dropdown list boxes with an
objectdatasource so the user can provide a selection, I am not binding the
gridview to anything. The command buttons again are for the user to be...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.

Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
