Hi,
I would like to have MySQL use a mapped network drive. I'd like to do
this in case there is a failure of the mysql machine, I can just replace
it with a new machine pointing to the same network drive. Is this
possible at all?
Thanks,
Andre M. Descombes

I am a complete idiot when it comes to access. Now that said, I work
for a computer security company and one of our customers came to us
with an access problem.
They had been running fine for a long time. Then about a month ago
there main server that hosted all the .mdb files crashed. So they
restored everything to a new server (I believe 2003 server).
Everything was fine for 2 weeks, then one morning they came in and the
queries were...

Nubie Question...I'm sure this is simple, but here goes anyway. I have a
small VB.Net application that uses a local Access Database. I want that same
local data replicated to an Internet web site so that I can use an ASP.NET
page to work with the data. My DB and Application is not really big enough
to mess with SQL server...
QUESTION: What is the best way to sync my data to the web. I've tried the
built in replication in Access and...

We have an application written for a PDA that we are switching from MS
Access to Mysql. There is a central server that has all the data in a
mysql database, however when we sync from the PDA it is much faster
sync'ing to a local copy of the mysql database then on central server
(users are remote and must VPN into server).
What are the options for taking a larger mysql database and segmenting
out data for a particular user (a subset of...

G'day group.
Currently our organization us using VB6 based applications, and I am
trying to push forward and migrate some of the smaller things to
VB.NET, eventually migrating all applications from VB6 and other legacy
languages/systems (Pure VBScript, DataEase, etc.) over to .NET.
Currently, *all* user data is stored on network shares. When a user
logs in to a workstation, their home drive is mounted from one share,

Hey,
I would like to syncronize my local database with my website database.
Scenarios are
1. New rows / row updates in the local database to be updated on the
website database (local -net)
2. Updates on the website database to be updated on the local database
(net -local)
* Updates for both databases are possibly on different fields

I am trying to write a program that will continuously sniff eth0 for a specific UDP packet thats being sent to a specific destination IP, alter the data of the packet, and finally transmit it to the destination. My script compiles fine and runs fine until it finds the specific packet and tries to alter the payload of the data. Hopefully someone can give me some insight on why it might be doing this...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
