Hi, I have an aspx page at the web server that provides PDF documents for smart client applications. Here is the code in aspx page that defines content type: Response.ContentType = "application/octet-stream"; Response.AppendHeader("Content-Disposition", "attachment;filename=" + fileID.ToString() + ".pdf");

Hi, The Request.SaveAs method stores in a file the complete HTTP request including the HttpVersion. However when I try to reproduce in memory the same thing, I cannot find the "HTTP/1.1" anywhere. I looked around and found a class called HttpWorkerRequest which has a method called GetHttpVersion() which returns the exact thing I am missing. However, I can't see how to get at the HttpWorkerRequest from a Page or from the HttpApplication.

I have been working with ASP.NET 1.1 for quite a while now. For some reason, opening some ASP.NET applications we wrote is producing the following error message: "The Web server reported the following error when attempting to create or open the Web project located at the following URL: 'http://localhost/WebApplication1'. 'HTTP/1.1 500 Internal Server Error'."

I have set up a custom error page for 404 errors. However the HTTP status code returned is 302 followed by 200, this causes search engines not to remove old pages from their index. How can I get the correct status code to be returned? Thanks

I am wanting to capture the XML posted by an InfoPath form with .NET, but I cannot figure out how to capture the XML stream sent back by the InfoPath form. With Classic ASP, I could just create an MSXML object then load the XML with a simple objXML.Load(Request). This would give me the XML stream, which I could then manipulate. However, using System.Xml, this is not possible - not that I have found, anyway. The InfoPath documentation...

I am programming what is to be a web service client that will use an HTTP-POST to request and retrieve data. The remote server (written in java for what it's worth) requires basic authentication as per RFC 2617 (http://www.faqs.org/rfcs/rfc2617.html). My attempts to authenticate are failing. The server requires the header to be present with the request. For security reasons, it will not reply in any way if the header is not present. ...

Howdy, I wrote a web service in .Net for my customer. My customer has another vendor who now has to consume it but they are not using Visual Studio. Most of their pages are jsp, and they said they need to consume this web service using HTTP. The developer's IDE is Notepad. Yeah, weird I know. How is this done? I guess if I can get it to run ASP, IDE independant, that should make them happy. Any references you can point me to?

Hello All, I am using extended data grid (from Leadit) in my C# winforms application. I have written some serial numbers on the rwo header of the extended data grid. Problem is when I scroll the horizontal scrolbar, the row headers do not stay still and the row header column does not freeze and it is not possible to see on which row I am, as the serial numbers are not visible.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
