viewing mdf and ldf files

I have SQL Server 2000 installed on my PC. A database has been created and i need to view the contents of LDF and MDF files.Please someone let me know how to view the contents of the file.

That's now how it's done. The LDF and MDF are logical files and represents the repository of your database. Objects are then created inside the database. Those objects are the one that holds the data, information, definition, etc.
