Post Production house looking for Python guru/user in Bangkok, Thailand

46
Hi Guys,

I work for a small television commercial post-production facility in Bangkok, Thailand.

We are in the process of setting up our workflow management and are now looking to buy/build a Media Asset Management system (or is it Content Management System - MAM / CMS?).

I googled around and found that there are a few available solutions for Mac OSX (i'm not completely sure if they will do exactly what we need), as well as some opensource projects out there like Zope & Plone.

My small 2 months of using python so far has shown me how powerful and useable it is. Based on my experience with other asset management systems I have used before I believe the best solution for us will be to build our own system- or ultimately, hire someone to come build it for us!

So, my question is, can anyone recommend a python guru/user who lives in Bangkok Thailand who may have experience with creating a web server based database application (i think that describes it) for managing assets in a small company.

Or, can anyone recommend somewhere on the net that I can find this kind of person?

I hope my email makes some sense!

Cheers!

I live in Italy, but i'm doing exactly what you want in Lumiq Studios (http://www.lumiq.com/) and this work will be the argument of my degree thesis (I will graduate in march,2008).
I'm working at this project since 6 months with Plone and Zope (we are trying to create our solution but starting from this platform) and now i have a fairly good amount of knowledge about assets magament system.
If you have some ideas or suggestion or if you would like to discuss some points, drop me a line, I would appreciate it!

Hi there.

My name is Paul Cluver. I work for an Australian multimedia company in Bangkok. I specialise in C#/Dot.Net, but I do have a lot of experience in Zope/Plone.

My last role with Zope/Plone involved translating http://www.imagestate.com from Zope to Dot.Net.

Although I work full-time, I do also do freelance work. I am currently finishing off a project for a U.K client and I will be available in mid September.

If you have not found anyone by then and you are keen to meet up for a chat, please drop me an email at pcluver@metacrawler.com

Thanks,
Paul.
