OSA Python

Hello,

I'm new on this list. I am looking for the OSA Python extension
for MacOS 9. The MacOS X version can be downloaded here:

<http://home.pacbell.net/fancher/OSA_Python/OSAPython_1.0.a5.dmg.sit>

but I need the MacOS 9 version, because I want to do this:

<http://home.pacbell.net/fancher/OSA_Python/Hypercard.GIF>

If you have the OSA Python extension or know where to get it,
could you please contact me at pythonosa(a)schonewille.cjb.net?

Thanks!

Mark

Hi,

Does anyone have the OSA Python extension for MacOS 9? I tried
to contact Bill Fancher, but the e-mail address on his website
is incorrect. Does anyone know how to contact him? I would
appreciate your help very much.

Best regards,

Mark

I think Bill disappeared very suddenly off the net sometime back in
2002. I don't know if anyone knows what happened to him or has heard
or seen of him since. (I heard he went offline after discovering he
was ill - cancer or something - but don't have any more details.)

As to your request for an OSA-compatible version of Python for OS9, if
no-one's replied to you about this then chances are it's not/never
hass been available. Current work on MacPython's Apple event and OSA
component support is all OS X-based (see
<http://homepage.mac.com/philip_aker/osa/osa.html>,
<http://freespace.virgin.net/hamish.sanderson/appscript.html>) so
you're probably SOOL as far as finding anything for OS 9 goes.

Sorry I can't be more help,

Has,

Thank you for the reply. I am sorry to hear that development of
the OSA extension has probably stopped due to tragical
circumstances. It is good to know why I will probably never find
that extension, though, as I would have been searching forever.
