Modified files

15 New Member
Hi,

Can anyone help me on how do i check if a file is modified or not? In case I have 10 files and only two files are modified at a time how will i get the files only which are modified at that particular time? Is there any perl for this?

I am not quite sure where you are going with this, but if you want to check and see if a file has been modified, then you are going to have to have something to compare it against. Like a back up copy for instance. Once you make any changes, you immediately back up the file to an archive and you can then compare the two and see if they are identical. Is that what you are asking?

Yes exactly. I have backed up a copy all 10 files. Out of the present 10 files two files are modified and then I am including the backed up data into them. But currently even for the files which are not modified, the back up is getting added. What i want it only for the two files to have New+back up data. The other files have to be left alone.
