perl 5.8.8 2 Gb file limitations

P: 1
Dear Sir,
I'm a newbie running a perl 5.8.8 application making an incremental txt file stop growing at 2 GB of size. I have settled-up uselargefiles=define to work with larger file but i'm not so skilled infact the application is still blocking at 2 Gb. The application is running on Ubuntu 7.10 server dsik partition EXT3. Idea how the set the perl module or other setting to do

Your question is something 99% of perl users probably have no experience with. I know I have little experience with low-level issues like this especially because it involves the way perl was built and the operating system also comes into play.

The only thing I can suggest is ask on www.perlmonks.com where there are more experienced perl people or find an Ubuntu help forum/mailing list and ask there.

Good luck.
