view verbose output from system commands within perl script

Hi

Sorry if this seems a really dumb question but, I have line (below) that does run properly when the perl program runs as a cron

I have added the -v switch to the command, how do i get the output of the -v switch to display when running the perl file.

ps i know there is a debug command but that displays "User jailed" even when it has not work properly (only)

-W switch after perl command did not work

 # jail the user
