Problem in using Response.BinaryWrite and changing controls

375 256MB
Hi,

I have a button which needs to download the file, simaltaneously it has to enable or disable the linkbutton on a click event. I went for the following code which never works for me.. The problem is there in writing the file in response. Any idea is highly valuable.
Thanks in advance..

Given the code below..
----
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. LinkButton1.Enabled = false;
  2. System.IO.FileStream fs = null;
  3. fs = System.IO.File.Open("c://4377.doc", System.IO.FileMode.Open);
  4. byte[] btFile = new byte[fs.Length];
  5. fs.Read(btFile, 0, Convert.ToInt32(fs.Length));
  6. fs.Close();
  7.
  8.
  9. Response.AddHeader("Content-disposition", "attachment; filename=4377.mpp");
  10. Response.ContentType = "application/octet-stream";
  11. Response.BinaryWrite(btFile);
  12. Response.End();
-----------

Thanks
Regards

Consider creating a separate page for the download file implementation.
Add an <iframe> to the page that will be the target of the download.

Use JavaScript to change the source of the <iframe> to the page that is used for downloading the file when the download button/link is clicked... at the same time that is changed, use JavaScript to disable the LinkButton before submitting to the server....you may not even have to submit if this works for you.
