Visual SourceSafe (VSS) command line issue with corrupt file/folder

23
Hi all,

I am running a simple command line Get for a networked VSS database. The command executes properly until it reaches a directory that is corrupted. Because the database is not local, I don't have access to run the analyze utility to try and fix the issue. Plus, I've been told it's been run before and has not resolved anything.

To my question...how can I duplicate the functionality of the UI that skips corrupted files/folder, in my command line statement?

Here is, basically, the command I am using:

Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. \\[DEV SERVER]\C$\PROGRA~1\MICROS~1\VSS\Win32\SS.exe Get $/Asp.Net/[FOLDER]/[PROJECT] -R -Q -I- -GWS -GLc:\inetpub\wwwroot\[PROJECT]
  2.
I've added the switches to try and ignore errors, but nothing seems to allow the get command to proceed past a corrupt file/folder.

Thanks for any help you can give!!

Because there doesn't seem to be an easy solution to this, I've updated to the code to allow the user to get the latest version of each file or a list of files rather than the whole project. It appears that VSS doesn't handle corrupted files very well.
