how can i get the extended ascii values of symbols using vb.net code.
the code asc() not working above 127 bits

Hi,

The range of extended ascii values is from 128-255. To get the extended ascii value you can use the Asc function in Vb .net .
e.g.

''give required char to get the ascii code using Asc function 
Dim ascVal as Integer = Asc("some char")

Typecast the value to any numerical datatype.

int myi = (int)'a';
byte myi = (byte)'a';
 

Direct comparisons can be made.
