XPath and XML Schema

mig
I have XML Schema (or DTD) file and XPath String on the input and need piece
of Java code (probably using some free API) which will give me the answer to
the following question:
"Can we build an XML file compliant to the given XML Schema (or DTD) in
which given XPath select at least one element/attribute?".
I need at least functionality for the simple XPaths, like: /AAA/BBB/@CCC

thanks, mig

Hi, I am having a problem using XPath when I validate Xml documents with a schema. Basically what happens is that an XPath query doesn't return the nodes I require if a schema is used to validate the XML. I'll try and explain it as briefly as possible here. For example, look at the following XML. <?xml version="1.0"?> <!-- Test Comment --> <!-- Test Comment 2 --> <Books> <Book> <Title>XML Book One</Title>

I am using XMLSPY to create various XML Schemas. In text documents we have the XPATH mapped to various of our databases. Here is the problem----- How do I verify that I don't have any typos in the documentation? I was wondering if there were any tools that would generate all possible XPATHs from a schema? Then I could compare the XPATH that are in the documentation with those derived from the schema.

I am in the process of creating an application to scrape databases in order to create typed DataSets. One of the last pieces that I need to do is to remap database fields to something more pleasant. In order to do this I have created a static map that will perform the transformation. Below is a sample of an XML Schema that would be returned from the database. What I am looking to do is given a column name, find the node. For...

Hello -- I'm attempting to get a handle on how to do xpath queries with System.Xml -- so far the biggest hurdle has been how to deal with a default namespace. If I use the test xml: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?> <thing xmlns="urn:thing-schema-v1"> <foo>foo thing</foo> <bar>bar thing</bar>

Hi, there! As I understand the XPaht recommendation, the context node is a node; not a node-list, not XPath object -- but a single node. Now, the WS-BPEL 2.0 specification allows an XML simple type value to be the context of an XPath expression, by converting it to an XPath object -- either boolean, string or float. I do not see how this is possible, but I would like your thoughts on it.

Let's say we have a schema (maybe expressed in XML Schema, but not necessarily so), that allows this instance document: <top> <txt>This is text</txt> <books> <book>Tarzan</book> <book>Harry Potter</book> </books> </top>

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
