ASP.NET display photos on pages dynamically

32 New Member
Hi,

I am writing an application which will display the photos on the web pages.
The photos are stored in the seperate machine but in the same LAN.

First, when the user visit the web site, the photos are shown as small size.
Then, when the user click on the photo, it will show the larger size on another Image box in the same page.
I tried using ImageMap, It works.
But, when I look up the client code, it has the physical URL of the photos. I don't want the users to see the URL of the photos.I am using ASP.NET 2.0.

How would I do?
Any suggestion or useful links?

Thanks.

Hi Jason,

In the IIS, if you create a virtual directory (called say 'Images') underneath your website which points to the location of your images you can link to them as below.
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1.  <img src='Images/Image01.gif' />
which will prevent their actual location being written to the browser.

Hope this helps,

Dr B

PS You've posted this in the ASP Forum which is for Classic ASP only - I've moved it for you but in future please post all ASP.NET questions in the .NET Forum. Thanks.
