It's not clear from your message, are you trying to have a full page refresh or NOT trying to have a full page refresh?

sorry if im not clear

i do not want a full page refresh. i want a partial refresh (just my update panel)
it works fine at the beginning. but as i add more controls to the project

it started to give a full page refresh instead of a partial refresh

Thank you.

Are all the controls now in your update panel?
Is a control you thought was in there, NOT in there?
Is one of the controls doing a postback instead of/along with the desired ajax action?
