NullReferenceException was unhandled

10 New Member
Hey all,
Having an error in C# and am looking for some help. Am getting a "NullReferenceException was unhandled" error in this piece of code

[i]private Student[] students = new Student[noOfStudents];
string[] RandomStudentList = new string [noOfStudents];

public void PreferedProjects()
{
for(int i = 0; i<noOfStudents;i++)
{
RandomStudentList[i] = students.GetName();
.....
.....
}

The underlined line is where i am getting the error and as far as i can see i have created an instance of Student so I dont know why im getting this error.

this just boxes it:
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. private Student[] students = new Student[noOfStudents];
  2.
Everyone of the Students in students will be null, you will need to do something like this:
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. for(int i=0;i<students.Length;i++)
  2. {
  3. students[i]=new Student();
  4. }
  5.
