Modify .mdb file on Users Local Machine from Web Page?

PAHSTeacher
I have had success writing to a .mdb database file stored on the server.

However, I would like each user to have their own database, which could be copied from a template on the server to their local machine on their first visit to the site. (I'll save my permission questions about allowing the download of a .mdb file for later.)

Once that is done I'd like the ability to write to and read from that local copy of the .mdb from the web site on all subsequent visits.

Is this possible? (or is it disalllowed for security reasons?)

I was hoping that the user could just browse to the .mdb on their machine each time they visit the web page.

btw I'm using,
