Web Service & Word Merge Problems?

I am wondering whether there are any known problems with a web service
performing a mail/word merge with XML data provided by the client? One of
our developers has indicated that you can't do this from a web service.

We are using Office 2007 and C#.

In general, the Office applications are not meant to be used from a service
of any kind. It used to be totally unsupported. I don't know for sure if
this is still the case for Office2007, but I suspect that it is.

So, unless Office 2007 has changed to support this, I suggest that you
abandon this technique of solving your problem.
