Lay a control on a custom control

I created a custom control which inherited from the control class, I defined new properties and methods and wrote codes in Onpaint() event. I added this control in my project. Now I can use this in design time as well as run time.
However，when I added some existing .Net controls such as a TextBox onto my custom control, the TextBox did not show up on the windows form. What else I have to do?

I figured out what happened for this matter: Althought I added the TextBox in .Net GUI, it did not automatically add a line of this.controls.add(myTextBox); since I don't have a design.cs file. So I have to manually that line of codes.
However, now I have a new problem: I want the TextBox to be invisible until the user click my custom control.

I added click event handler for the custom control:

public class myControl : Control
{
... ...
public void myControl_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
this.myTextBox.Visible = true;
}
}

and added the click event handler to the event in the form:

this.myControl.Click += new System.EventHandler(this.myControl.myControl_Click );

When I try to run, however, the TextBox did not become visible when I clicked the custom control. In debug mode, I found that it did not reach the codes in click event handler. Could a great guy tell what happened?
