Preventing html code from being entered in forms

Is there any way for preventing the users from entering html code in the form fields?

You could use JavaScript to keep symbols like '<' and '>' from being entered. Just capture the key down event to intercept the keystrokes and output those you will allow.

If JavaScript is disabled though, that will not work. So you should test for that and output an error to the user to state that you require JavaScript to be enabled.
