User Control in vb.net

15 New Member
Hi
I'm new to .net environment. I want to create a user control that contain three buttons, namely, ok, cancel and reset.
i've to define the functionalities of all these but can't be able to do so..
Can any one suggest me how to define the working of these buttons according to their names.
Thanx

I am also fairly new with the .net environment but I have been experimenting a lot lately with user controls and feel myself becoming more and more confident with them.

All that I did to get mine to work properly is:

->create the user control

->add buttons and other fields

->double click on the button to get to the code-behind method that
describes what that button does in the case that it has been clicked

->insert code into the method

->place user control onto an aspx page

->to be able to manipulate it you will have to declare it on this aspx page

Private WithEvents nameOfControl as UserControl

->run the aspx containing the user control

A userControl must be placed onto an aspx page for it to work. When its buttons are pressed, the aspx page handles the postback and runs the code that handles the event that caused the postback, which is in the userControl that is on that page.

If you have any more questions please feel free to ask.

Cheers!
